Dear NCFRW Club Presidents and Leaders,
Before I cover the NCGOP State Convention, I want to thank you all for your cooperation in sending in your Achievement Award forms, as well as the optional Caring for America, Armed Services, Literacy and Americanism Award forms.
I trust that by now you’ve had time to review the June newsletter where I cover the reasons why NCFRW cannot support the proposed changes made by the Plan of Organization Committee to the existing NCGOP Plan of Organization under which we currently operate.
Carolyn Justice, President of Lower Cape Fear RW and I developed a flyer (see below for the text) that we will distribute at the NCGOP Convention.
The favor I ask is, Will you volunteer to distribute just 50 flyers at the Convention? I’ll be at the Convention on Thursday, and you can text me at 910-978-7766 to make arrangements to meet and pick up the flyers.
The text of the flyer:
- This proposal completely changes the very operation of the entire NCGOP and the composition of the Executive Committee. The Plan of Organization Committee was not given the authority to do a total “Rewrite” of the Plan and was never empowered to go this far.
- The proposed Plan consolidates power into too few hands. On the State ExecutiveCommittee, the minimum number of people required to conduct official NCGOP business would drop drastically.
- As proposed, the Plan limitsthe voices of all Republicans and discourages participation. Rather than welcoming hard-working volunteers, it shuts us out.
- The unelected Plan of Organization Committee gives itself too much power and control over the Party.
- Thereare too many draconian changes and no way to amend the Plan. The Plan Committee will not allow any amendments from the floor. They will only permit an up or down vote.
- Sincewewill not be allowed to amend it, the only vote we have is to STOP it.
Vote NO on the proposed Plan of Organization!
NCFRW will have a Hospitality Suite on Friday and Saturday nights, and the NCGOP will list our room number.
I appreciate your help and thank you for your leadership.
Kindest regards,
Kay Wildt, President, NCFRW
